American Cancer Society Relay For Life Start: Friday, June 1st, 6:00 PM Finish: Saturday, June 2nd, 12:00 Noon Place: Maumee High School Track 1147 Saco St Maumee, OH 43537 Contact: Tim Whitney, (419) 350-4998, tim.whitney@dana.com Description: Great early morning training opportunity: This year your Team Toledo will be participating in the Maumee ACS Relay for Life. As the name implies, it‘s a Relay and we are looking for volunteers to run / walk one or more of the legs. Each leg will last one hour and we need friends and members of Team Toledo to be on the track for all 18 hours. Contact Tim and let him know what time slot you would like to fill. I’m told that real ironmen prefer to run sometime between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM. Sat. morning ;-). Things will start @ 6:00 PM Fri. with a very large group of local cancer survivors completing the first lap. This will be followed by a tribute, at dusk, to honor those who have lost the cancer battle. This tribute will be in the form of hundreds of lunch-bag sized luminaries that will light the track for the participants. Live music will be offering entertainment throughout the event. Team Toledo will have a tent in the infield as well as the Toledo RoadRunners. Come on out to the track and get your weekend run in while enjoying the festivities.
