Race season is in full swing and events are coming up fast.
Here are a few updates and reminders from Team Toledo:

Kids and Tri/Du Volunteers,
Thank you
so much for your help Saturday and Sunday, August 12 and 13.
The events
were a huge success again. Over
200
kids participated in the kids tri and the experience of the
Team Toledo Triathletes helped immeasurably. Those that
stayed to tear down and set up the Sylvania Triathlon, thank
you.
Those who
chose not to race but volunteered on Sunday, I want to thank
you as well. As a participant, I appreciate all you did to
make it a fun and well run event.

Team
Toledo is poised to win the
club series with a win at Mideast in
Indianapolis,
Sunday August 27th 7:30 am. We have over 30 members that
have stated their intention of racing. We need as many as
possible.
As was announced at the picnic, the club will reimburse
all Team
Toledo Club
members who travel to Indy and score points. Members will
be reimbursed $35 for their hotel cost. Details about how
and when the money will be distributed are still being
worked out. If you have not already signed the "race board"
at an open water swim and you would like to be reimbursed
$35, e-mail Ginger and tell her you are racing. This "club
roster" will be used for scoring purposes and must be turned
in prior to the race.
We hope to publish a list of those racing on the Team
Toledo Triathlon
Club forum (www.smartgroups.com). Use this
information to get together a carpool or have dinner as a
group in
Indianapolis.
If
you have any questions, feel free to contact a board

of the Town
Thank you to all
the Taste of the Town volunteers. Team
Toledo again
received many compliments throughout the week while raising
money for the club.

Good luck to the
Team Toledo athletes participating in
Ann Arbor, June
11 at another MERCRS race this weekend. The event is sold
out so sign up early next year.
Racing for Recovery Sprint/Half Triathlon/Duathlon
June 11, come out to race or volunteer or cheer on the
athletes at this local triathlon. If you need more
information on the event or would like to volunteer, contact
Jeremy Miller (jomiller@bex.net).

Toledo is the
club sponsor of the event and helping supply volunteers on
Saturday and Sunday.
2006 Membership
Please renew your
memberships for 2006. This is especially important if you
are racing in a MERCRS race since every Team Toledo MERCRS
participant helps the club. Applications are available on
the website.
2006 Open Water Swims
The first open
water swim of the season is Tuesday, June 13. Please arrive
at 6:30 pm to sign in. Bring your swim cap and if you have
not renewed your membership, bring your application and $25.
Mark your
calendars to come out to the annual Team Toledo picnic after
the open water swim Thursday, July 20 (approximately 7:45
pm). Bring your family and enjoy the meal.

USAT Grant
Congratulations.
Team
Toledo was
awarded a $1,000 grant from USAT. The club has the option
to use it towards the 2006 open water swims, 2006 picnic,
and/or race uniforms. Watch the forum for more information.
