Un-official Champs fourth year in a row. Even though we had 400 points more
than the closest club, and even though the closest club only brought 8 racers to Champs and Team
Toledo brought 40, making it mathematically impossible for anyone to beat us, the Mid-East Board
still would not confirm that we officially won. But I will. Congratulations to the only
club to ever win the series four years in a row!
Monday night group rides continue (weather pending). This is not an official
Team Toledo event, just a group of cyclist going for a ride. Ride starts at 6:00pm.
Track workouts - Done for the year. Thank you, coach Jim (Lopez).
Also on Mondays, BikeWorks (Sylvania) is having free bike clinics.
Check their website for
coming weeks.

Track workouts - thanks to Kelly & Rob Wissolik for filling in for Coach Jim while
he was on vacation.
Team Toledo Members are Awesome!
Red,
White,
Kaboom
went great. They actually clapped for us when we were done. There's definitely
something special (good) about being triathletes. I want to thank everyone
who came down and helped. Also my sincere apologies to those who came down
to see the weiner dogs races. Evidently the races were on the other side of
the river, sorry.
Also July 3rd - Napoleon Triathlon Challenge. Less than an hour away for most.
Here is their website for details.
July 2nd and 3rd
Red,
White,
Kaboom
so you missed out on LatinoFest and now your sick with guilt. Well
cheer up! we have one more event for you to redeem yourself. Red, White, Kaboom is three
events in one: Taste of Toledo, Battle of the Bands, and the fourth of July fireworks.
The good news is we don't have to clean up after the fireworks. We are only doing the

about 100 swimmers. Water temp was 80 but there were some cool spots so it wasn't too warm.

new members and first timers. The water temperature was 78 degrees (really).
June 6th - Racing for Recovery Half Iron or Sprint Triathlon - Sterling State
Park, Monroe, MI . Less than an hour away, this is the closest Half Iron race. If you're

Okay, now it's too late. Still A Chance. So you missed the Winter Expo. I'm sure you had a good excuse.
Something like it was your grandmother's 100th birthday and they flew in your aunt from
Brazil which no one has seen in 50 years and your dog had kittens that day. It's okay,
we forgive you. And to show you, we're gonna give you another chance to get fitted for
a Team Toledo uniform. Liz Young will have the uniform fitting kit with her at Dave's
Performance Footgear in Sylvania this week (January 25-31) and next week (February 1-7). Go
there when Liz is there, her hours are: 10:00-8:00 Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00-6:00 Saturday,
and 12:00-5:00 on Sunday. Reminder, not only are these uniforms cool looking, they're
reasonably priced thanks to our sponsers.
Team Toledo Winter Expo - Saturday, January 23rd. 9:00am to 4:00pm - Boulevard
Church of Christ, 7041 W. Sylvania Ave, Sylvania, OH 43560 (Across from Tam O’Shanter).
Free admission, open to the public. If you or if you know someone thinking of getting
into triathlons (or duathlons) this is a great place to start. We will have Team Toledo
hats, socks and a few jerseys for sale and you can get fitted for a uniform. We have
to order them now in order to have the uniforms by spring. There will also be a silent
auction with stuff provided by our vendors. You could get some stuff real cheap. There
will also be a swap meet if your looking to sell something. Don't forget your bike
as there will be computrainer races all day. No "bike fit" this year. More Info.
Tribies (Triathlon Newbies) - great new program sponsered by Dave's Performance
Footgear. Started on December 1st, but it's not too late to sign up. This is a
triathlon training group for anyone wishing to complete
their first triathlon in 2010, or have a training program to follow for a tri in 2010.
Team Toledo members are there to help with answer questions and give training tips.
If interested, contact Liz Young.
Renew for 2010 - If you join or renew your membership right now, your membership
will be good for the rest of 2009 and all of 2010. Honestly, we have nothing planned
for the rest of 2009. However, get ready to mark your calendars for the Winter Expo
which will be happening in January (usually the third or fourth weekend).
