Swim, Bike, Run and Repeat

Events

Team Toledo hosts training opportunities throughout the year in each discipline within triathlon.

Triathlons

The Sylvania Triathlon is held at Olander Park in Sylvania, Ohio every year.  There are many options within this race including duathlon, aquabike, relay, and triathlon within Sprint and Olympic distances.  Many Team Toledo members participate in and volunteer for this locally held, long-standing race.

Transitions

Transition is considered by some to be the fourth discipline of triathlon. This is the time in between the swim and bike, and the bike and run. Click the videos below to watch some beginner transition tips from Team Toledo.

Ready to practice your transitions? Our sponsor CycleWerks hosts weekly bricks (bike to run) in the summer months.

Swimming

Opportunities for open-water swimming for Team Toledo members are offered regularly (typically 2-3 times per week) throughout the summer months at Olander Park and Centennial Quarry in Sylvania, OH.

Throughout the winter months regular Friday night team swims at offered with a coach on the pool deck to offer aid with technique.

Biking

Time trials are held regularly throughout the season.  Time trials on bikes are a race against the clock, on a course with limited traffic and volunteer flagmen at each corner.  These are valuable mental and physical training opportunities for athletes of any level of fitness or skill.

Bike and Run Bricks

Our sponsor, CycleWerks, offers weekly Brick and BBQ events as a training opportunity.  Groups of varying paces ride an open course of 13 miles and participants may run at their own pace and enjoy a BBQ mixer after the ride.
